Infodemic:

Infodemic:

“Noun: a massive amount of widely and rapidly circulating information about a particular crisis or controversial issue, consisting of a confusing combination of fact, falsehood, rumor, and opinion.” 12.8.20 Word-of-the-Day, Dictionary.com*·

If you think fear isn’t being pumped-out and spread by every form of media there is, check out the paranoid auto-correct on Instagram.

I must have reversed several letters when beginning to type the word ‘surprising’ in response to a comment I received. For instantly, the spellcheck function offered me this horrific alternative –– ‘superinfection.

Is that even a word? -- I wondered in shock. This happened late at night so I thought I must be dreaming. And just now, while writing this blog, I found that the spellchecker on my Word program doesn’t recognize superinfection as a legitimate word.

So, I did a Google search and learned that it was coined about 100 years ago. And it’s defined as an “infection occurring after or on top of an earlier infection, especially following treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics.” (Doesn’t that strengthen your faith in modern medicine)?

What this odd event underscores for me is just how much the Life Stream is a Life’s Dream in which we are the programmable dreamers who conjure together a collective Nightmare through our conscious and unconscious adherence to a lot of really terrible ideas. We then empower this toxic brew of destructive nonsense through the negative emotions it engenders within us.

BTW: speaking of nightmares –– why is it a NightMare that carries people away toward fear and horror in our dreaming? After all, it’s primarily masculine energy that’s responsible for the greed, aggression and terror in the world. I wonder, as well, how  terror and horror have become such reliably profitable subjects of entertainment.

This world truly is suicidally insane. And while the word insane is generally defined as being ‘out of our mind,’ it actually occurs when we are out of our body and deaf to the promptings of our HEARt. Then we are left with no COMPASSion whatever by which to guide our way through the untamed wilderness of an untethered mind.

Fortunately, there is a deeper Well of Peace and sanity that reside within us all. And when the mind goes quiet, we naturally HEAR the HEARt speak in the beautiful poetry of our own innate and spontaneous wisdom. For

We’ve a cellular line to the Divine but ego causes static.
As we each let go and enjoy the flow
our lives become X-Static.

* “The word was coined in 2003 by David J. Rothkopf, an American political scientist and journalist. Prof. Rothkopf was referring specifically to the profusion of information, misinformation, rumor, and outright falsehoods during the SARS epidemic of 2003.”
