We’ve had the opportunity to work with Acate ?? in their early adopters campaign, using an Influencer Marketing approach. For you to understand how it works, we’ll give you a bit of context. First of all, what is Acate, and why use influencers? Acate is a marketplace in Guatemala that guarantees safety to all users, whether they are sellers or buyers. One of their biggest challenges are Facebook Marketplace and other small online shops. However, none of them guarantee the most important thing: safety and transparency. We understood the pain point this platform wanted to solve; however, Guatemala’s context is a bit complex. You see, given the history of scams and frauds, people continue to take risks buying online and potentially being scammed. So our challenge was to bring awareness to the matter since it needs to change as a market custom.
But how could we generate not only the interest for a safe transaction but also generate trust from a new player? The answer: partnering with influential people who resonated with our ideal audience. ???????? They could become ambassadors of our brand. Remember, social media has a huge impact on consumers’ decision-making.
Our first approach was working with Marcela Quesada, a Guatemalan content creator with a solid community that would likely become interested in our client’s service. Our approach was to create content that would connect with the audience, and she did this by sharing a story that happened to her and open it to discussion. In the second video, she interacted with the platform and shared her experience. This helped us show the consumer the simplicity of the process and built their confidence that they can do it too. These efforts brought increased traffic and new sellers to the platform.

After getting all this attention, we needed to motivate people to sell and purchase even more. So we decided to collaborate with Hans Vielman, an influential person with a wide range of audiences and significant numbers. This creator's content was based on real-time interaction with people, so we could create conversations that would directly send our audience to the website. This allowed us to measure tangible results through a QR specific link placed on Hans T-shirt.
Visits increased by 50% and the bounce rate was reduced by 30%. Another incredible statistic was getting 5 times more registrations than before and 4 times more new items per day.???
