Just wrapped up Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas! I joined a panel of absolute badasses including Matt Frary from SmarterChaos.com, Ryan Fiore from Manscaped, and Blake Avila from FabFitFun talking about how to leverage Influencer Marketing and what we’re focused on in 2019.
My take away from the event... Focus on building an influencer marketing strategy that is elevating your brand and compliments your acquisition strategy.
Influencer marketing is mostly used as a top of the funnel play but you will create sales/acquisition with a strong retargeting strategy, especially if you are using content of your influencers in your own ads. If you are working hand in hand with your acquisition team, your influencer marketing campaigns will be elevating your brand and creating sales at the same time.
Don’t be afraid to test different things. Focus on collaborations — multiple influencers involved in the same campaign.
Tap into experiential marketing events with influencers, this will allow you to leverage multiple people telling the same story. You will also be able to create a bank of content — testimonials that can be used as individual content pieces and used to hyper target audiences in your ads, Instagram story videos, a recap video for the influencers to share. Content is the name of the game!
These strategies will help you create more content and get more bang for your buck. I will be unpacking the strategies I am focused on in 2019 in my next article. If you aren't focused on utilizing the massively underpriced attention allotted to your brand through influencer marketing then you're missing out on a HUGE opportunity.
