An Inflection Point for the Market? Also, the Moral of Bed Bath & Beyond
?There's a broad consensus that 'you ain't seen nothing yet' when it comes to this market...
Everybody has a reason... higher interest rates, the charts, the technical, the "this," the "that."
What I know is that nobody knows, and what I also know is this...
During all of the years I was doing short-biased writing as a journalist, there was a pattern.
First, as the market went higher, my sources would clam up. They worried that if they mentioned an idea to me and I wrote about it, in turn drawing attention to the name, there was an increased likelihood that they would be squeezed higher.?That almost always preceded an inflection point and a top in the market.
The opposite was true once the markets fell and my readership spiked – the point when it seemed like people started hanging on my every word.?That almost always preceded an inflection point just before stocks rallied...?or ran higher to another leg in the bull market.
I no longer write almost entirely bearishly the way I did, so I'm no longer the gauge I once was. But I've been watching... (To read more, click here.)

2 年Well Herb, based on my long experience in related industry (restaurants), when I saw this, I thought: (1) walking through the stores they looked awful (2) with the retail expert coming in I wonder if there was overconfidence (3) did they test the new product lines anywhere before system rollout? //John A.
