Will inflation or supply chain issues have a negative impact on your career?

Has runaway inflation had a negative impact on your career? Some will correctly say "no" but many would honestly say, "yes". But which is it?

As Yogi Berra said, "the future ain't what it used to be."

Inflation is hitting careers in two ways. First, wage inflation has caused many companies to eliminate and/or automate positions.

We are seeing restaurant begin to look at robots to take delivery food to tables and we have all seen kiosks and online ordering reduce the need for some wait staff and counter workers.

Secondly, the supply chain problems has forced some companies to lay off workers because of a lack of work. For example, car dealers no longer need as many salespeople, and those who manage them, because of a lack of cars to sell. Also, the lack of appliances to sell has reduced the need for installers, salespeople, and delivery people.
