Inflammation, types, and Anti-inflammatory food!!!


Nowadays, people are having so many diseases due to their lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. It’s not because they are getting any infection or viruses but they are eating unhealthy and living in a toxic environment, that gives them stress, depression, and tons of diseases.?

If we take one extra step and decide to have healthy eating habits and lifestyles, we can beat any diseases and no need to run on medications and pay bills for medical treatment.

I am shocked by seeing the products in the market which is cheap, sugary, processed, and full of preservatives. Those products are easy to grab and taste yummy. Since people have started to take this food from outside and are most dependent on packaged and processed food. They are increasing hidden diseases inside of them. Most of these things trigger Inflammation which is the reason for autoimmune diseases like obesity, diabetes, Arthritis, and many others.


Inflammation

Inflammation is the body's defense system that helps the body to heal but sometimes, the body defends, its own tissues and causes tons of diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, psoriasis, acne, rashes, and swelling.


Types of Inflammation?

1. Acute Inflammation

Acute inflammation is those which doesn’t stay for long and last for a few days. Examples of Acute inflammation are pain, swelling, and redness.?

2. Chronic Inflammation?

Chronic Inflammation is one that can stay for months or years. Examples of chronic diseases are Diabetes, Arthritis, Psoriasis, Allergies, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Rheumatoid Arthritis


Food That triggers Inflammation-

  • Junk foods-?Burgers, potato chips, oily snacks
  • Refined carbohydrates:?White bread, pasta, white rice, crackers, white tortillas
  • Fried foods:?French Fries, Fried chicken, egg rolls
  • Sugar-sweetened beverages:?Soda, sweet tea, energy drinks, sports drinks
  • Processed meats:?Bacon, beef jerky, canned meat, salami, hot dogs, smoked meat
  • Trans fats:?Shortening, vegetable oil, margarine


Anti-Inflammatory Food

There are a number of fruits and vegetables that helps to reduce inflammation. It is recommended to take fruit and Vegetables in Rainbow. It means we should take every seasonal fruit and vegetable, every color has a significant role. Mother Nature works amazingly to strengthen our defense system. Some of them, are given here-

1. Blueberry, Raspberries & other berries

Berries are rich in antioxidants called anthocyanin. Blueberries alone have antioxidant properties that are fighting inflammation, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. You can take any berries, all have amazing benefits. You can also take frozen berries, which contain the same nutrients as the fresh ones.?

2. Leafy green vegetables

Green leaves, such as spinach and kale, and Swiss Chard that is full of ingredients such as foliate, fiber, vitamin A C E, and K, and a variety of minerals, reduce overall body inflammation. You can use this fresh leafy vegetable in curries and smoothies or you can put it in a salad.

3. Avocado?

Avocado is full of mono-saturated Fat. That is a good fat for our body. that helps to reduce Cholesterol and it reduces inflammation of the joints. Studies proved that it is beneficial in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It has more Potassium than Bananas.

4 Broccoli

Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, and Bok Choy are jam-packed with anti-oxidant. These are full of Vitamins and Phytonutrients. Broccoli is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Potassium Magnesium, and Fiber but there is one more important ingredient that is sulforaphane that makes Broccoli more special, and studies show that it protects effects against Cancer and can detoxify the harmful chemicals that exist in Environment.

5. Garlic

Garlic has been used for Centuries for remedies, it has not only medicinal properties, it enhances the taste of any recipe. various studies show that it is Cancer Preventive property and boosts our immune system. Garlic also contains Anti-inflammatory chemicals such as Quercetin, which naturally inhibits histamine and sulfur Compound that stimulate your immune system. If you have Arthritis, Garlic can be your best friend as it helps to reduce pain and cartilage damage associated with Arthritis. You can use it for any recipe.

6. Ginger

Ginger is a very helpful and anti-inflammatory food. It helps cure sore throat, and digestive issues, and cure nausea. Ginger has been used for a long time to prevent constipation cold and cough. You use ginger with honey to cure cough and ginger tea for other health benefits. Ginger Tea also helps in digestion and is helpful for weight loss too.

7. Turmeric?

Turmeric is a miraculous spice to cure diseases. It has been used for years for medical purposes as per Ayurveda. Number of studies proved that turmeric contains curcumin, helpful to cure many diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Arthritis, preventing cancer-generating cells, cure wounds, and relief in pain. Turmeric should be used with black pepper for absorption of curcumin.?

8. Nuts and Fatty fish (Omega-3)?

Omega 3 fatty acids are really helpful for our body. The body doesn’t produce it, we have to take them from our diet, if you have an autoimmune condition, studies proved that they are very beneficial to reducing lupus, arthritis, type one Diabetes, Psoriasis, and so many others. Omega-3 is also essential for Brain Health. Those who take this regularly are less stressed and anxious. Sources of Omega-3 are Salmon Fish, Nuts, and flax seeds. You can take organic supplements of Omega-3.??

In addition to the above, we can add fresh organic food given below to have an anti-inflammatory diet-

  • Tomatoes
  • Citrus fruits
  • Yogurt
  • Olive, Coconut, and cold-pressed oil
  • Spices
  • Herbs
  • Green Tea

The bottom line is that if we will focus on our healthy habits and change our lifestyle we can control most of our diseases and can live our fullest and can enjoy life as we want.?
