THE INFJ-T (THE ADVOCATE)
Understanding our personality would help us determine what career could work for us. It is helpful as well in determining or understanding ourselves. Why do we certain things? Why do we act the way we do? Why do we say certain things? Why are we the way we are? Having a guide like the MBTI personality chart helps us understand the complexity of one to another. This would also guide us into what career is ideal for us. A career where we could excel because the skills come in naturally. Something that doesn’t need to be reinforced.
I like taking the MBTI personality test at least once a year, usually of curiosity. And, ever since I started taking it a few years ago, I’ve always been getting the same result.
I am an INFJ-T.
I took the test and got the same result, an INFJ-T. The only difference that I did compared to the previous years was that I read a little more about the ideal career for me. I’ve never done it before. I also wasn’t fully aware of how rare INFJ’s were. No wonder even I find myself weird and complicated sometimes.
According to the result that I had, some of the ideal careers were a diplomat (wow!) and a counselor. As a person who is very interested in Psychology, I must say, working as a counselor appeals to me the most. Being a diplomat is far too fetch. I’ve mentioned before that I want to go back to school and get an undergraduate degree and then a graduate degree, a Ph.D. too. I was choosing between taking a Psychology major and an IT major. I’m always interested in technology. But, being a person other people run to for advice, as a person who always lends an ear, I think the best career move for me is to start working in the Psychology field. I didn’t realize it that much because I was blinded by other things. Other people took Psychology major just for the sake of having taken a bachelor’s degree. As for myself, I believe that I have a big chance of excelling in this field. I know I am 35 years old now. But hey! It’s not too late as long there is a will to learn and has the willingness to push through. We could make it happen. I am a firm believer in the LAW OF ATTRACTION.
“You reap what you sow.”
It’s going to be a long road for me. Other people might find it unfortunate that I am only figuring it now, at this age. But these people have no idea what I’ve been through to get to this point. These people have no idea how much I crawled to get here. How many fights I had to put up to go against my inner demons. It wasn’t easy to get to this part where my mind was emancipated from those dark thoughts. I’m just starting my life again. I know I am healing. I may be an old soul, but my body is the opposite. I feel young and energized. I am excited about what is ahead of me. I am optimistic, and I can’t stop thinking about the things that I want to do. It’s not going to be easy, I know. I never had an easy life, it wasn’t new. I hope that the universe conspires and helps me achieve it and make it happen. I am doing all these not for myself. I want to accomplish these things so I can provide my son a better life. He didn’t choose to be born so I have to make sure he doesn’t live a life similar to what I’ve been through as a child, and as an adolescent. I want him to pursue what he loves to do. I want to have the capacity to help him reach his dream. I want to be able to provide a good education for him. I would like my son to be proud of his mama one day. I adore him very much.

The MBTI test is just a guide that would allow us to know more about ourselves. It offers a view from a different perspective. A vantage point we might not know exists.
