Infinity Hash Will Replace All T21s with M60s

A Matter of Reliability

To ensure stable returns for our clients, our mining machines must maintain high uptime and require minimal repairs. Downtimes are costly—not only due to repair expenses but also because it results in lost mining rewards. In fact, while most discussions about mining machines focus on energy efficiency, reliability is arguably a more important factor.

With this in mind, we have decided to replace all Antminer T21 units with Whatsminer M60 models. The T21 has proven unreliable, with 5 out of 12 units needing repairs in just eight months, leading to over 40% failure within a year. In contrast, Whatsminer models have a failure rate as low as 1-2% per year, making them a much more stable choice for continuous operations.

Why M60s Are the Better Choice

To summarize, there are two main reasons why M60s are a better choice:

  • Higher Uptime. The T21 requires frequent thermal paste replacements, resulting in 1-2 days of downtime per repair—or even longer if the issue arises over the weekend. Whatsminer M60s don’t have this issue, keeping them running longer without interruptions.
  • Higher Efficiency. The M60 models offer better energy efficiency than the T21, especially considering that the T21 did not consistently achieve its advertised hashrate. Most of the M60 units we are acquiring are the M60S model, which operates at 18.5 J/TH, compared to the T21’s stated 19 J/TH. This improvement translates to lower energy costs and greater overall performance.

Next Steps

Starting today, we will begin replacing our batch of T21 miners with M60s. The sale of the T21 units will help fund these upgrades, ensuring minimal costs for us. Since we only have 9 T21s—less than 1% of our total mining fleet—this change will have minimal impact on overall operations. However, we expect it to significantly reduce repair costs and improve the average uptime of our machines.
