Infinite Possibilities

Impossible vs. Possible
I’ve always considered myself someone who thrives on making the impossible, possible. It’s been my core motivation for as long as I can remember. Maybe it comes from often being “the first”—the first Black kid at my elementary school in South Pasadena, the first to hold many roles in my career, breaking into and excelling across industries that weren't designed with someone like me in mind. As many of you, my fellow Muses, can relate, when you’re the first, the challenge often feels like an unscalable mountain, seemingly impossible to conquer. But with sheer determination and a refusal to accept limits, we find ways to dig deep, summon our courage, and make what once seemed impossible, possible.
The Power of Infinite Possibilities
What I’ve discovered after facing these challenges time and again is the concept of infinite possibilities.
Every Sunday on my drive to church, I pass a high school with a marquee that reads: “Infinite Possibilities.” And without fail, a big smile spreads across my face. I look for it each week, half expecting the message to change, but secretly hoping it doesn’t. Those two words are a beautiful reminder that sets the tone for my day and week ahead. The belief in infinite possibilities has been a guiding force in my life, pushing me to see not barriers, but opportunities waiting to be realized.
When I was in the advertising industry, we were in dire need of new business to not just survive but thrive. I earned a reputation as “the Queen of the Cold Call” after someone noticed I would reach out to CMOs, asking if they would be willing to meet with us. What people didn’t realize was that my actions weren’t random—they were strategic. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain by being bold and believing in the power of the impossible. Those cold calls led to countless meetings and opened doors we hadn’t even knocked on yet.
One meeting that stands out is with DyShaun Muhammad who at the time was with Uber Eats. I had emailed him out of the blue to connect, and he accepted. When we kicked off the meeting, he said, “Before we start, I just want to say, in all my years, I’ve never had anyone approach me the way Amani did. It was so refreshing, I had to take this meeting.”
That’s the magic of embracing infinite possibilities—sometimes all it takes is the courage to reach out and ask.
Know Your Value
"When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom." - Proverbs 11:2
You might be looking for a new opportunity, considering a bold career change, or weighing a move to a new city. And my advice to you is simple: Go for it all. Why not? When you believe in the infinite possibilities around you, it gives you the push to make that call to a potential client, take that leap to relocate, or even propose to the love of your life.
Life is short. When we don’t fully value something, we risk being careless with it. Don’t take your gifts, talents, and blessings for granted—because if you do, they’ll slip away. Cherish them, nurture them, and above all, believe in the possibilities that surround you.
This is your reminder to embrace the infinite, and to make the impossible, possible.
