A couple of things I've been marinatin' on over the last couple of months:
- We spend the majority of our lives in a workplace of some kind. As somewhat of an optimistic nihilist this has always impacted the way I feel about the company I work for. I hold employer awareness of their company's culture extremely high on my list of workplace must-haves. If the universe is as epic and endless as NASA has recently shared with us, I want to be a part of a group that includes people I enjoy and a leadership team that sees their team as valuable and worth investing in. We're all just floating on a rock, tumbling through endless nothingness, worrying if the lighting is weird on our face for a Zoom call. Let's have some fun while we're at it.
- Working from home has changed my life for the better. I used to drive 1 hour through heavy traffic *to* work and then and 1+ hours getting home *from* work. I did not thrive commuting, and every time I go to the office I'm reminded of how much happier I am that I don't have to experience it on a daily basis.
Warning: profanity ahead, but it pretty much sums up how I feel. You hit the nail on the head, Pete Holmes.
