Inevitable: The Winds of Change
Dear ASQ Rochester Members and Friends,
Change, much like Rochester's weather, is unpredictable yet ever-present. One moment it's serene; the next, a storm brews. This metaphor aptly captures both our region and our experience with change – it's an inevitable force, constantly reshaping our landscape and ourselves. As I pen this message, I'm struck by our remarkable journey over the past two years leading ASQ Rochester as Chair, a journey defined by resilience, innovation, and the collective growth that parallels our city’s ever-changing climate.
Our ability to weather the pandemic's unforeseen and extended challenges has been nothing short of inspiring. Together, we've navigated uncharted waters with the unwavering spirit of quality professionals. We've adapted, pivoted, and most importantly, grown as a community.
This journey has been abundant with milestones. Beyond our two key conferences, we've convened numerous meetings, both in-person and online, featuring world-renowned experts and emerging local talents. We've cultivated networking opportunities and engaged in fruitful collaborations with the Greater Rochester Quality Council. Together, we've invested time and resources in community initiatives, including the Performance Excellence Awards among other endeavors. These efforts showcase not just our commitment to quality, but also our profound dedication to community service.
Overseeing these activities, especially the orchestration of the conferences amidst the complexities of greater engagement with ASQ Headquarters, has been both gratifying and challenging. This unique mix has catalyzed personal growth and has spurred the expansion of our organization's horizons. Although a leader may have a significant impact, the achievements of our organization are genuinely a reflection of the collective efforts of our members.
Now, as we turn a new page, I urge each of you to stretch, grow, and get involved. The winds of change are calling us to embrace new ideas, fresh perspectives, and the next wave of innovation. I am excited to introduce Megan Watson as our new Chair and Jennifer Luecke as our Treasurer. Their passion and dedication symbolize our ethos and promise a vibrant future for ASQ Rochester.

Reflecting on my time with ASQ Rochester, I see it as more than a professional commitment; it's been a life-enriching experience, shaping my perspective on quality and the world. As we navigate these new changes, let’s continue to embody the spirit of continuous improvement and lifelong learning.
Thank you for being part of this chapter in our story. Together, let's embrace the changes ahead and continue to write our narrative of resilience, innovation, and growth.
