Be Inevitable....

Except of my daily message to the company (sent in the fall)....

"How long should you try? Until." - Jim Rohn

Our mission is one to serve mankind and future generations and your focus is truly on saving people from suffering. When you have a clear and true mission the universe ultimately clears a path for you. That is not to say it will not be without struggle, it will be, but ultimately we will bend the universe and bring the Accuryn technology to the world. The struggle is part of our journey, it has been a part of our journey.

Potrero resilience is a simple equation. It is the collection of our struggles at Potrero and our responses over time equal our resilience. Resilience to adversity is one of the absolute keys to success. How many times you stand up, dust yourself off, and get back into the fight will be proportionate to your wins and successes. Collectively we must have a proverbial "chip on our shoulder" against the status quo. We cannot be ok with current limitations of technology and the negative impact to people (patients), to people (nurses), and to people (doctors). We have to see the person struggling and fighting for their life as a friend or family member. Don't wait for that to be your parent, sibling, mother, father, friend or other. Advocate for that patient - protect their kidneys and you may actually be saving their life.

When you look back on the struggles as you look forward to the new challenges, it serves as a great reminder that we are inevitable.

ALWAYS FORWARD!!!!

Joe

Great message Joe Urban! Resilience = toughness. You are going to fall/fail/stumble, then what? Then what are you going to do? Resilience will lead to an inevitable outcome.

Great article, Joe. Medicine has always been advanced by visionaries who refused to give up. One example that I can think of is Anton van Leeuwenhoek. Leeuwenhoek's 1677 paper, the famous ‘letter on the protozoa’, gave the first detailed description of bacteria to the world. Scientists of his time could not match the resolution and clarity of Leeuwenhoek's microscopes, so his discoveries were dismissed over the following centuries. Most reputable names in medicine and science critiqued his work as '‘Illusions of his sight’. I often wonder how far we would have advanced in medicine if only the scientists of his time were not limited by the technology and their refusal to seek the right one.
