Boost Your Brainpower with 1-Minute Squats …

… Did you know that just 1 minute of squats can enhance your concentration and decision-making abilities, all backed by science?

Recent studies have shown that incorporating short "exercise snacks" into your busy workday can lead to improved energy levels, health, and even longevity.

One study involving 20 young adults found that taking one-minute half-squats with calf raises breaks every 20 minutes resulted in better executive function, faster reaction times, increased blood flow to the brain, and reduced mental fatigue (study).

To stay sharp and maintain productivity, consider integrating brief squat sessions into your daily routine. Use a timer or a simple cue, like taking a quick squat break when filling your coffee mug or water bottle. It's a small investment with significant benefits for your brain and overall well-being. So, why not give it a try during your next work break?

Seaweed: A Surprising Ally in Muscle Preservation …

… You start losing muscle mass around the age of 30. And while lifelong exercise, especially strength training, is crucial, it’s not enough.

The brown seaweed Ishige okamurae (IO) might be able to halt or even reverse this process as researchers have shown in mice and a few people. Mice even gained muscle strength … and lean mass (study).

As usual, we need more studies, but adding seaweed to your diet, especially IO if you can find it, can help to keep you stronger and in better shape for decades to come.

Protect Yourself Against Covid with Probiotics …

… As Covid and other respiratory infections are rampant in many parts of the worlds, you might be looking for a way to reduce symptoms in case you’re getting infected or maybe even preventing getting ill.

Researchers did a study with unvaccinated people who had been exposed to somebody with Covid. They found that people who took the probiotic Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus?GG experienced 60% less symptoms (26.4% of those in the probiotic group vs 42.9% in the placebo group). It also took longer for them to show an infection (study).

Could you prevent Covid by supplementing it before getting ill? The researchers believe the chances are good.

So, you might want to try it for yourself … for prevention and once you’ve gotten in contact with somebody who has got Covid or some other respiratory infection.

Morning Meditation that Nourishes Your Organs and Spirit …

… Meditation is a powerful way to strengthen and upgrade your energetic and immune systems.

Ramel Rones or Rami, the first Tai Chi Master to co-author a study in The New England Journal of Medicine and Scientific Consultant at Harvard Medical School, shared a morning meditation with the readers of Jeunessima Magazine 20 that nourishes your internal organs, strengthens your core, and awakens your spirit.

Innovative Health News …

A simple saliva test might be enough in the future to diagnose different cancers

Cancers change glycans, complex sugar molecules in your body that attach to proteins and fats. And those changes could be detected in blood or saliva using AI.

Predicting Alzheimer’s early with a simple blood test

Researchers have discovered that the blood biomarkers, amyloid β (Aβ)42, Aβ42/40 ratio and phosphorylated tau181 are linked to changes in cognitive function in midlife women and might be early predictors of Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

AI Revolutionizes Life Expectancy Predictions

Recent buzz has emerged about an AI's ability to forecast our lifespan. While caution is advised against claims from dubious sites touting access to the life2vec AI for personal mortality predictions, the underlying research is promising. It not only predicts lifespan with notable accuracy but also seems to have the ability to adapt to new longevity research as it comes out. What's truly captivating is its analysis of various personal factors — from personality to profession, health, wealth, and life events — to assess their impact on life expectancy. This insight could pave the way for targeted strategies to maximize individual longevity.
