Queensland's Psychosocial Code of Practice Out Now
Managing psychosocial hazards and risks at work is just as important as managing physical risks.?The?Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice 2022?is a practical guide on how to prevent harm from psychosocial hazards at work, including psychological and physical harm.?
The Code is an approved code of practice under the?Work Health and Safety Act 2011?(WHS Act). It provides information for persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) on how psychosocial hazards and risks can be controlled or managed and can be used to help decide what’s reasonably practicable to reduce risk.?The Code is also a helpful resource for workers who may experience harm from psychosocial hazards, including psychological harm, at work.
?Director ID Deadline Extended
Directors now have until?14 December 2022?to apply for their director ID.?The Australian Business Registry Services today announced that while technically the deadline would remain 30 November, it would not penalise anyone who applied for their director ID by 14 December. In effect, the announcement makes the new deadline 14 December.?A Director ID is a unique 15-digit numerical identifier that will be assigned to directors as proof of their identity based on a one-time application. Directors will keep their director ID forever, regardless of whether they change directorships, change names or move overseas.?If you have not already done so, you can apply for your director ID online or download a paper-based form at the?www.abrs.gov.au/directorID
?ISO Net Zero Guideline Now Released
The Net Zero Guidelines harnesses best practice from existing guidance to offer clarity, alignment and standards to help inspire collective progress. The Net Zero Guidelines will support all organizations, including those who develop policies, frameworks, standards or other initiatives on net zero, so that any organization looking to make or support a net zero claim takes a similar approach. Launched at COP27, the Guidelines are a flagship deliverable of ISO and its wider community which aims to align the world to a common basis for net zero action. The Department of Environment and Science (DES) invites submissions about whether there is any particular waste for which an End of Waste (EOW) code should be prepared under the?Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011.?Submissions are invited to ensure that resources are targeted towards the development of EOW codes for which there is strong industry demand. Proposed Fees for Exports
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking feedback on proposed fees and charges for exports of waste glass, plastic, tyres, paper and cardboard. The department will start recovering the costs of administering the Waste Export Program?from 1 July 2023, when the department will charge a: (1) fee to recover costs of assessing applications for waste export licences, variations and exemption, and (2) levy to recover other costs such as maintaining the Waste Export Licensing and Declaration (WELD) portal and implementing compliance and enforcement activities.
