Industry Leader Views

Welcome to my monthly activity roundup of the European private equity, venture capital and infrastructure industry. After our summer break, I’d like to highlight our members’ contribution to creating a coherent and data-driven narrative in this Point de Vue, through the below links to articles they’ve penned and interviews they’ve given.

In 2023, for the 40th Anniversary of Invest Europe, we launched a series of filmed leader interviews to gather industry insights from some of its most prominent and seasoned leaders. Sliding between past, present and future, many themes and hot topics were covered, from ESG to innovation and performance, growth and employment to scaling up and AI. This year, we’ll be bringing to screen again the insights of our industry’s leaders: how we operate, and the value we generate across Europe - with backing from the latest Invest Europe data and research.

It’s clear how the above and our overall activity are relevant and valuable both to the industry and our key stakeholders as the continuous growth of Invest Europe’s social media following, reach and engagement displays. We’ve reached a number of key milestones (30k followers on LI; 1 million views on YT; 17 millions views on GIPHY) across our channels that you can view in the video link at the end of this article.

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve published a series of exclusive articles from our LP members with their insights on the issues that matter most to them. You can find them below in chronological order and please don’t hesitate to share! More are coming…

Richard Hickman , Managing Director, HarbourVest Partners and of investment and operations for HVPE, member of Invest Europe’s Listed Private Capital Roundtable argues about the latent value waiting to be unlocked in the years to come – whether from further growth in the portfolio or an overdue re-rating of the shares, or even a combination of the two.

Thijs van Dongen heads the Tax Operations team at the European Investment Fund (EIF) and is the Limited Partners Representative in Invest Europe’s Tax Committee. Don’t Miss the Middle: The Outperformance of Mid-Market European Private Equity

Carolina E. , Managing Director, HarbourVest Partners , Board Member & Member of LP Council, Invest Europe argues that while Europe has never been a story of macro growth and will most likely continue to present political risks, there are great the investment opportunities ahead given the combination of a structural opportunity with a maturing experienced manager landscape and a history of consistent outperformance to public benchmarks.?

Sofie Kulp-T?g, Senior Investment Manager, Skandia Mutual Life Insurance Company, Member, LP Council, Invest Europe makes a sharp analysis of the market based on her experience and backed by the data in Invest Europe’s recent report, ’Investing in Europe: Private Equity Activity 2023’.
