STMICROELECTRONICS REVEALS ADVANCED ULTRA-LOW-POWER STM32?MICROCONTROLLERS
STMicroelectronics has introduced a new generation of energy-conscious and cost-effective microcontrollers (MCUs) that can reduce energy consumption by up to 50% compared to previous product generations. This enables less frequent battery replacements, minimizes the impact of discarded batteries, and allows more designs to go battery-freerunning solely from an energy-harvesting system such as a small photovoltaic cell.
The new STM32U0 MCUs enable a great leap in energy efficiency through a combination of their state-of-the-art design techniques and advanced manufacturing process. These include extremely low static power consumption in standby mode and superior wake-up performance, enabling the MCU to spend more time in power-saving sleep modes to minimize average energy demand.
STM32U0?devices are the first MCUs running on Arm? Cortex?-M0+ targeting SESIP Level 3?and PSA Level 1?focusing on firmware code protection. Certification provides independent assurance of the STM32U0?security capabilities that product manufacturers can leverage to comply with the coming voluntary US Cyber Trust Mark and mandatory EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC COLLABORATES WITH NVIDIA ON DESIGNS FOR AI DATA CENTERS
Schneider Electric announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to optimize data center infrastructure and pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in edge artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies.
Schneider Electric will leverage its expertise in data center infrastructure and NVIDIA’s advanced AI technologies to introduce the first publicly available AI data center reference designs. These designs are set to redefine the benchmarks for AI deployment and operation within data center ecosystems, marking a significant milestone in the industry's evolution.
Addressing the evolving demands of AI workloads, the reference designs will offer a robust framework for implementing NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform within data centers, while optimizing performance, scalability, and overall sustainability. Partners, engineers, and data center leaders can utilize these reference designs for existing data center rooms that must support new deployments of high-density AI servers and new data center builds that are fully optimized for a liquid-cooled AI cluster.

ROBUST DUAL GPU PLATFORM FOR HIGH-END AI
German distributor Acceed has now augmented its portfolio with the Nuvo-10208GC, a further latest generation robust platform, which makes a wide range of demanding applications possible. Autonomous driving, optical quality inspection and the monitoring of traffic and material flows are just some of the complex tasks for which the Nuvo-10208GP can provide its strong computing capacity supported by two GPUs.
The high-end computer, now available with several individual equipment combinations is a dual GPU platform designed for industrial requirements which was specifically developed to support two high-end graphics cards with 350?W. With it, the Nuvo-10208GC can provide a huge output of up to 97?TeraFLOPS (benchmarking with FP32). Its areas of use include GPU-accelerated simulation, virtual reality applications, optical in-line product examination and autonomous transport systems.
The new Nuvo-10208GC is the logical advancement of tried and successful models. Based on various Intel-i9/i7/i5/i3?12th and 13th generation processors, the highly robust system supports two series RTX 40, RTX A6000?and RTX A4500?graphics cards from the technology partner Nvidia. With it, for example, autonomous vehicles can handle complex tasks such as image processing and machine learning in real time. Real time processing is essential, also for the recognition of obstacles, to determine positions and to make vehicles or robots safer.
TECHNIP ENERGIES AND GE VERNOVA ADVANCE UK’S TRANSITION TO NET-ZERO
Technip Energies, leader of a consortium with GE Vernova, and construction partner, Balfour Beatty, received a Letter of Intent from bp, on behalf of NZT Power Limited for the execution phase of the Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) in the United Kingdom.
This landmark project is poised to become one of the world’s first commercial-scale gas-fired power stations with carbon capture, expected to capture up to 2?million tonnes of CO2?per year. The project is set to provide flexible, dispatchable low-carbon power equivalent to the average electricity requirements of around 1.3?million UK homes, further supporting the nation's transition to a cleaner energy future.
The Technip Energies and GE Vernova consortium, supported by leading infrastructure group Balfour Beatty, will play an important role in constructing a highly efficient combined cycle plant. It will be powered by an advanced GE Vernova 9HA.02?gas turbine, a steam turbine, a generator and a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), which will integrate with a state-of-the-art carbon capture plant using Technip Energies’ Canopy by T.ENTM solution powered by the Shell CANSOLV? CO2?capture technology.
