Industry Day become Industry Week
As part of launching the Microsoft Technology Center in Stockholm in January this year, we decided that after our internal launch to externally launch the MTC in each industry, doing multi-customer and multi-partner engagements, rather than our traditional 1:1 sessions.
What is the Microsoft Technology Center?
The Microsoft Technology Center is the meeting place where we mutually explore our customers' unmet and unarticulated needs.
Well, we know that technology is only useful when it helps you to engage your customers, empower your employees, optimize your operations, and reinventing your products and business models. At the MTC, we will help you find the right solutions to transform your business by bringing together the right collection of our resources:
People: The MTC staff are experts in Microsoft solutions. Their tenure in the industry ensures they will effectively guide your team to rapidly find solutions to your technology challenges.
Partners: The MTCs have formed alliances with industry leaders who provide comprehensive resources, including hardware, software, and services to explore during your engagements.
Place: The MTC environment provides rich interactive and immersive experiences for you to learn first-hand how Microsoft and partner technologies can help you take on your most difficult challenges.
At the MTC, we are tailoring the engagement to use different types of activities depending on what we wish to mutually learn:
Strategy Briefing: A tailored envisioning session includes powerful demos and scenarios, followed by technology drilldowns.
Architecture Design Session: This session includes architectural guidance and preferred practices while mapping out the solution architecture including risk analysis.
Proof-of-Concept: A custom briefing that includes a hands-on environment where you can experience Microsoft's platform and solutions firsthand.
Workshops: Immerse yourself in a technology through a mixture of briefings and hands-on experiences.
Hackathon: Work closely with our team who will transfer knowledge of the platform and services for solution development.
Our pre-summer industry launches
So, we decided to do our external launch as industry specific focus days before this summer, with several different concepts. The Industry Days Being multi-customer activities, we were really doing something different than our normal 1:1 engagements, and we wanted to understand if the activities would be both appreciated, effective, and valuable.
On February 8th we conducted the Healthcare User Forum with a focus on sharing experiences on a specific set of challenges within collaboration over different regions for both hospitals, clinics, specialists crossing borders over public and commercial players in the market.
Next up was the Manufacturing Day on March 20th where our different teams at Microsoft invited targeted customers with a focus on Intelligent Factories showcasing ISV solutions solving challenges in factory operational efficiency, predicted maintenance and automated planning.
The Retail Inspiration Day on April 26th became almost a mini-NRF with solutions throughout the entirety of the customer journey, including store operations, sales analytics, omni-channel, bots and virtual with 10 exhibition partners, all allowing for hands-on experiences by the visiting customers.
Last out was Financial Services on May 15th where the focus was on the three big challenges in the industry; Intelligent Customer Meetings, Intelligent Compliance and Intelligent Financial Operations.
Next up; Microsoft Industry Weeks
The days being such successes, we evolved the concept of the Industry Day becoming an Industry Week, where the MTC will host different hands-on experiences in conjunction with an effort of our entire Swedish company for each Industry Week.
First out is the Financial Services and the event Microsoft Pivot: Financial Services Industry Week, 26-28 November 2018.
