Industry Capability Network to partner with SIM-PAC

Industry Capability Network to partner with SIM-PAC

The Industry Capability Network has announced a partnership with the Sustainable Industrial Manufacturing Asia Pacific (SIM-PAC) to showcase Australia manufacturing capabilities.

?

SIM-PAC, which will be held in Brisbane in February 2024, aims to be the world’s largest annual solutions-based showcase of low emission technology for sustainable industrial manufacturing.

?

As a Best in Show Sponsor, ICN will have a stand at the conference, as well as naming rights to a Best in Show prize, and the opportunity to present.

?

ICN National Office Executive Director, Warren Jansen said the organisation saw this partnership as a way to showcase Australia’s manufacturing capabilities, especially in areas critical to global decarbonisation and sustainability.

?

“This partnership aligns with our primary function to introduce Australian and New Zealand small and medium enterprises to projects large and small across our region,” Warren said.

?

“It will provide our procurement and supply chain experts with new opportunities to secure work for local businesses and improve our scope to future-proof Australian and New Zealand manufacturing capabilities.

?

“We believe that collaboration is the key to success, and with large numbers of exhibitors and attendees from throughout the APAC region, SIM-PAC will take collaboration to the next level.”

As an exhibition and trade show featuring showcase and conference functions, SIM-PAC will bring together the technology, machinery, engineering and design that enables sustainable industrial manufacturing.

?

Geoff Matthews, Event Director and Partner of SIM-PAC said the speed required to make the transition to sustainability means that collaboration and cooperation are fast becoming the two most critical success factors in deployment of new technologies and the building of truly circular economies.

?

“The speed at which we have to act, and the size of the mountain we must climb, means that no one is going to go it alone. All future innovation will be through collaboration,” Geoff said.

?

“Having ICN front and centre at SIM-PAC, allows it’s entire 100,000 strong network to feed into and access, large audiences across the APAC region.

?

“Manufacturing in the APAC region is 48.5% of total global production and generates USD7.1tn in GDP, Australia’s sector is around AUD100bn of that. The ICN/SIM-PAC partnership’s aim is to grow Australia’s slice of that pie,” Geoff Matthews said.

?

?

?

ICN was established in 1984 to increase economic activity and employment opportunities for local industry, and is funded by members and subscribers, including Australian and New Zealand federal, state and territory governments.

?

SIM-PAC will be hosted in Queensland for both 2024 and 2025, and then after each alternate year will be somewhere else in the Asia Pacific region, with Singapore, Japan and Korea already earmarked.

“The ICN network is excited to be involved and we look forward to working with Geoff and his team,” Warren said.
