Industry 4.0 - What is the Red Meat Processing Narrative? - Thought leaders required [Part 1].

Theme Articles: Part 1 (Innovation Challenge and Background), Part 2 (development plan), Part 3 (draft funding application), and Part 4 (additional information).

Most of us have heard the terms Industry 4.0, Manufacturing 4.0, Industrial Internet of Things (iIoT), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and so on.......................but what does all this really mean to the future of the Australian red meat processing sector?

What parts are applicable to the Australian processing sector? How does the processing sector adopt the relevant components of this thinking?

To this end, AMPC ensured that it identified in its current 2020-2025 Strategic plan the area of Processing Industry 4.0. Specifically in the 2020-2021 Annual Operating plan it is noted that AMPC's role is to work with thought leaders and industry to understand how I.4.0 can positively influence the processing sector in Australia. Refer to the image below (page 8 from the annual operating plan).

AMPC Innovation Challenge

AMPC would like to hear from any thought leaders (globally) who believe that they can work with AMPC, and host Australian red meat processing companies, to develop an Industry 4.0 / Manufacturing 4.0 Narrative (aka Vision) for the industry in Australia. Multiple narratives may be the resultant for the different supply chains that will be engaged.

It is also anticipated that this process will identify any additional innovation support required by AMPC to enable Australian processors to evaluate and litmus test the narrative via the deployment of I.4.0 examples.

If you are a solution provider or developer and would like to be financially supported by AMPC to demonstrate and evolve your offering in meat processing environments please reach out to me on LinkedIn or one of my colleagues Stuart Shaw

About AMPC

AMPC is an industry body that facilitates industry and researchers/providers in undertaking/adopting innovation and R&D for the Australian red meat processing sector. We do this by having access to an industry levy (aka an industry tax) and matching Aust. Fed. Govt. R&D funds (50% from the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment - The Hon. David Littleproud MP & Andrew Metcalfe AO). We invest in others undertaking R&D. Note we do not undertake any of the R&D ourselves.

Think of AMPC as innovation investment managers (without taking equity).
