Industry 4.0. People or Machines?
Nowadays when the growing spread of the Internet of Things and related technologies of total automation make many people worried that the new industrial revolution will create significantly fewer jobs than previous ones. For now, when INDUSTRY 4.0 becomes a real there are more and more discussions on the topic of what to do for people whose work will be replaced by machines? No secret that the era of professionals with a narrow specialization does not come back anymore in the nearest future.
What should people do if many professions become not in demand as they are now and other professions will not be needed at all because most of the work will be done by robots and machines.
But my question is - who will manage the machines and robots?
In fact human intelligence will not remain unclaimed. Just one professions will be replaced by another. For example, specialists in the field of IT, automation, mechanics, programming, and electronics will be more in demand. The focus will be shifted towards to technical professions. Surely, many and especially leading Universities in the World already understand it and they are ready to for a shift in emphasis towards to technical specialties.
Is Industry 4.0 worth the fear? Absolutely, no. After all scientific achievements it brings much more benefits than harm.
In addition, firstly, we shouldn't forget that universal automation will not come tomorrow. The secondly, look at our children which almost from their birth do not part with gadgets. From the very early years they get used to ordering a taxi or pizza using mobile phone in a few clicks as it easy and simple. It would not occur to them to flip through newspapers in search of relevant ads. All this clearly indicates that a generation will come after us, which will be ready for robotization and they (our children) will develop new technologies and raise scientific and technological achievements to new heights!
