Industrial lens cleaning and maintenance
Industrial lens is a precise?and expensive?product, the appearance is very delicate. If it is used for a long time, it needs to be cleaned regularly. Good maintenance of the industrial lens?can prolong the service life of the lens. A clean lens can ensure the perfect presentation of the shooting effect and obtain high-definition and high-contrast images. However, improper cleaning can damage the polished surface and dedicated coverings on the base or lens.

Of course, industrial lens cleaning and maintenance is not a piece of cloth literally wiped so simple. Since UNI Optics has many years of production experience in the field of industrial lenses, here we’ll discuss the proper equipment to use for these lens's cleanings:
1. Keep the edge of the lens in your hand and never touch the lens surface with your fingers. Moisture from your fingers can sometimes damage the lens cover, and it can become a permanent stain if you leave your finger on the lens for too long. Even if you wear gloves, avoid touching the lens surface;
2. Do not handle the lens with metal tools or pliers. Reduce the chance of lens damage by using tools made of wood, bamboo or plastic. Use a hand-held vacuum pen for small lenses;
3. Keep the lens on a soft surface, especially if the optical surface is raised. Resting on a hard table will cause surface scratches;
4. For the lens system or assembly, the lens cover can protect the optical surface from being damaged when not in use;
5. When storing lenses, wrap them separately in a clean, soft lens case and place them in a safe place. Never put unwrapped lenses together in a box or bag as they can damage each other. Never put them under heavy objects.

Daily lens maintenance, is not equal to every day wiping the lens, The lens surface has small areas of dust, and water stains, so imaging actually does not have much effect, we do not expect to be able to wipe the lens as it is when it shipped out of the factory. For a relatively small caliber lens, blow off the dust on the surface of the lens with air, if you encounter a large area of dirt that can not be blown off, you can use the lens cloth to gently wipe (blow first and then wipe, the order can not be wrong, the steps can not be less).
If lens water is needed to clean the lens, prepare cotton wool beforehand. First make 3-5 smaller cotton balls, pressed into a cake, the size of mirror 1/3 shall be subject to, and then prepare 3-5 large cotton balls, also pressed into a cake, the size of mirror 2/3 area. Dip a small amount of lens water into a smaller cotton ball and wipe the surface of the lens in a spiral motion from the center. Then, while the lens is still wet, wipe the lens in the same way with a larger cotton ball.
