Industrial IOT: Move towards Sustainability(IIOT)

Industrial IOT: Move towards Sustainability(IIOT)

While working closely with Industrial conglomerates, understanding their requirement was my primary aim to provide them with the optimal solution vis.-à-vis. automation, Smart solutions, IOT and seamless Integration of various technologies.

Over the past decade, attending various industrial events and engaging with top experts in manufacturing, I have observed a signification transformation in the industry’s mind-set.

With India positioned at the forefront to become a major global economy in the coming years and Industry segment holding the prominent position in Indian economy accounting for Approx. 30%** of the GDP, there’s an amplified Emphasis on Industrial IOT (IIOT) technologies.

From the past many years, Industrial 4.0 has dominated discussions within industrial circles. While we were becoming familiar with the concepts and solutions associated with Industrial 4.0, a new term emerged “Industrial 5.0”

The conversations shifted from mere automation to a reliable, Sustainable, Scalable, IOT enabled and Integrated Solution that revolve around the most valuable asset of an organisation “Human Resources”

Predominantly focusing on Automation and Sustainability, the major part of discussions shifted attention towards the human element in manufacturing which seeks to harmonize human and machine collaboration, ultimately simplifying and enhancing the safety of the users.

Integrating these two pillars, automation and sustainability has transformative potential to create a resilient and environmentally conscious industrial sector.

This convergence of automation and sustainable solutions has led to a new era of innovation and efficiency. Most industrial Solution providers are leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive operational excellence and environmental sustainability.

Developing comprehensive solutions that seamlessly integrate automation, Digitalization and Suitability principles are a need today to cater to the rising demands of the industries. The companies who have yet to initiate work on these principles have completely misunderstood the market and may fail to meet the evolving needs of industries in the near future.

Companies with multiple & diverse product lines must comprehend that while universal benefits such as reduced energy consumption, better quality components etc. are crucial, it’s imperative that products have to be designed now to integrate & communicate with each other alongside AI and Cloud Computing to promote preventive maintenance and data Acquisition. This enables the clients /Users to better plan their Annual maintenance budgets overall impacting their operational costs.

Also, keeping in mind the sustainability, designing a product & solution that facilitates resource efficiency, incorporate environmentally friendly components, prioritizes recyclability and waste reduction, is paramount. This approach not only boosts the Circular economy but also helps clients in gaining golden points to meet their ESG goals.

Customisation: As the product market transitions into a comprehensive solution market, customising products is essential to cater to the unique needs of clients, offering flexibility to them.

Post implementing these integrated IOT solutions, the major challenges faced by the Industrial manufacturers are the operability and training the official to run the show. The solution providers must develop and implement a thorough training program to equip individuals and train people who will operate systems to leverage the maximum benefits of these systems. This encapsulates the essence of Industrial 5.0: “The human & machine Collaboration”

To Build a solution companies may have to forge strategic partnerships, access various collaborations & industry associations to drive innovations, knowledge sharing and deliver comprehensive industry 5.0 Solutions.

As industrial Computerization continues to evolve, the fusion of automation and sustainable solutions will be pivotal in shaping a resilient and future-ready manufacturing sector. This convergence offers both solution providers and companies the opportunity to unlock new avenues for growth, innovation and progress.
