Industrial Hoses for Extremely Abrasive Applications

Industrial applications that are highly abrasive place extra demands on the durability of hoses and ducting. For this reason, applications involving concrete, cement, plastic pellets, roofing materials, grain, sand, gravel, shot blast media and many others tend to wear through hoses faster than others. Higher pressure applications cause this wear even more rapidly. One of the contributing factors is the friction created between the media traveling through the hose and the ID of the hose itself. If the hose wall is more corrugated the wear can happen even faster.

For these applications, a hose with a smooth inner wall is always the best choice. The Masterflex Group/Masterduct offers two unique solutions that have been proven to offer superior performance. The Master PUR Performance and the Master PUR Inline offer smooth and seamless inner hose walls, ensuring optimum conveying performance, creating less friction. They are also made from polyester polyurethane, offering 4-5X the abrasion resistance of PVC while being lighter and more flexible than rubber or metallic hoses. They are also anti-microbial, anti-static and rated for higher ambient temperatures and can be applied to a wider range of applications. An added benefit of the smooth inner diameter is that there are almost no residues left behind in the hose.

The Master PUR Performance is the more flexible of the two hose products- having a hose wall thickness of 2.5mm (0.098 inches). This hose is has a significantly heavier hose wall than competitive products. It's smooth inner wall will reduce energy consumption and processing costs for the customer. Our unique formulation has twice the abrasion resistance of even traditional TPU hoses.

The Master PUR Inline offers many of the same properties and advantages but with an even heavier hose wall- having a hose wall thickness of 5.5mm (0.216 inches). This provides the user with an unprecedented life expectancy while still being lighter and more flexible than other hoses appropriate for these pressures and conditions.
