Industrial Automation and Robotics

Whether it is down to the need to complete complex/repetitive tasks, the price of labour or because of a lack of labour, across production lines the need for industrial robotics is growing. From picking and placing products to undertaking packaging operations, utilising robotic functions improves efficiency and increases productivity across all sectors.

To ensure your production line operates to your requirements, there are many types of industrial robotics systems which can handle varying products, speeds, and payloads:

5 & 6 axis robotic arms

For high-speeds, heavy payloads, and flexible capabilities, 5 and 6 axis robotic arm integration can be used to enhance the performance of production lines. With wide horizontal and vertical reaches and the ability to pick up heavy payloads, 5 & 6 axis robots can be used for a large range of packing and palletising operations.

High speed 3 axis delta robot picking systems

Industrial robotic automation systems which utilise delta robot picking systems can be used to enable high-speed pick and place tasks to be completed. Products handled by delta robots should be lightweight and consist of simple geometries, since these robots operate at fast speeds.

SCARA robot pick and place systems

To efficiently pick and place products across the production line, SCARA robotic arms can be implemented. SCARA robots can operate at high speeds and with optional cleanroom specifications.

Sewtec Automation-built 2, 3 & 4 axis robots

Sewtec in-house-built robots are available in four different types of 2-axis system with a maximum payload of 50kg and cycle time of 104 seconds. We also offer 3 and 4-axis systems of varying weight capacity and performance. They are ideal for applications like pick and place and material handling.

Integration of vision systems

Robotic systems can integrate and operate with machine vision systems. These vision systems can be used for lines where there is mixed product that needs to be sorted, high-speed lines where there may be product in various orientations or for inspection operations.

End effector design

To ensure your products are picked up by any robot correctly, it is vitally important that the correct end effector is used. Incorrect designed end effectors can effect cycle times, payloads and could even cause damage to the product.

Industrial robotic automation by Sewtec Automation

We also have extensive experience working with leading third-party industrial robot suppliers and regularly work with our customers to create a custom-built, integrated solution to suit their needs.

To ensure you products are picked up by our robots correctly, we design unique end effectors to meet your requirements. We also undertake all calculations and simulations to prove both the cycle times and sequencing to make sure our robotic automation system meets your requirements.

Our pre-designed polycarbonate guarding ensure all components of the line are protected, while preserving the safety of the operator. This modular guarding system also helps to reduce the design and build time whilst improving rigidity.
