Business of all sizes, geographies and Industries turning to cloud services.? Data Centers?play an essential role in our society and digital economy! Everything that happens online is coming in the end from a Data Center. In Asia Pacific we're talking about a growth CAGR of 38% until 2026 for Infrastructure as a Service, means a massive increase of?data?and increase of storage capabilities in?future! (????????????ta)
"Each of us is used to it! We're streaming movies, daily storing pictures in a cloud, having virtual meetings from anywhere or playing online games. In fact, also every business is talking about it: IoT, Industry 4.0, Cloud Computing, Big Data, 5G, just to name some trends and technologies"
Quote: Nadine Mossmeyer, Siemens Factory Automation
Everyone uses it every day and knows the buzzwords from the newspapers, but what is actually the technology behind?
To meet the requirements of all this new trends and technologies we need high available and secure facilities which run 24/7. Of course the servers are the core component of a Data Center, but the facility itself consists of many equipment's and systems to keep the IT infrastructure running. Power supply and UPS, fire safety, physical security and HVAC systems are necessary to enable the operation and to protect the data. Any failure of a component can lead to an overall outage of the Data Center. This is why the equipment also requires to be monitored and controlled in order to achieve a high level of availability and maintainability of a mission critical Data Center. And this is exactly where Industrial Automation can be utilized to design a robust, standardized solution..
What are the challenges where Industrial Automation comes into picture?
Maximum uptime. Highest energy efficiency. Full scalability. Utmost security and safety. The stakes are high, and challenges are manifold! I'm happy to share some videos which Nadine Mossmeyer and I initiated to have a deeper look to Data Centers and explaining more about.
Starting with an overview about Data Center and talking about Industrial Automation technology like SCADA, Controller, redundant systems as well how to overcome challenges like Security and Sustainability.
