Indus Hospital is on a Journey to a Malaria Free Future
The Indus Hospital
The Indus Hospital & Health Network offers free, quality healthcare across Pakistan.
Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) has officially launched its Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) Mass Distribution Campaign 2024 to combat the spread of Malaria in Pakistan. The campaign will target six endemic districts of Sindh, KPK and Balochistan, and is being carried out by IHHN’s Community Health Directorate in partnership with the Common Management Unit (CMU), Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (MoNHSR&C), and provincial governments.
Securing the Health of Future Generations
The Campaign goes beyond the distribution of ITNs. Under this, critical information on the proper and long-term use of ITNs is also disseminated. By doing so, the Campaign aims to shift mindsets and increase awareness, empowering individuals to make healthier decisions that reduce their vulnerability to malaria. The Campaign exemplifies IHHN’s mission to uplift the nation by equipping communities, especially the marginalized, with essential healthcare skills and access. By doing so, IHHN is fostering a sustainable cycle of health and wellness that can be passed on to future generations.
Campaign Phase 1 | Registration: Awareness, Education and Capacity Building
To date, the Campaign has successfully completed its first stage, which included widespread household registrations, dissemination of messages about essential malaria awareness and the use of ITNs, capacity building of all workers and volunteers involved, and mobilization of communities to encourage positive social behavior change.
The Campaign’s communication activities have been comprehensive, featuring key messages delivered through mosque announcements, town criers, vehicles such as cars and rickshaws, as well as digital media and mobile channels.
