Inducing Beautiful Memories (IBM) _The Start

A chat exchanged over drinks or firm handshakes across an open culture leads you to believe how easy it is to connect. A glance, a scroll, a request and a social acceptance. Quick yet prone to breach, connections are not just restricted to how you perceive them but how they perceive you. You love being the apple of their eye yet they make it clear that they would not attempt to molly coddle you. Your mouth dries up and regular visits to the pantry for coffee adds on to the sweatbeads across your forehead. The manager inches closer and the tie knot strangles you to feel the heat running away from your body. The suited up lad smiles, offers you a cookie and seats himself beside you to discuss if you faced any issues to find the office. And this is how it all starts!

You click when it ticks.

This doesn't just apply to the Whatsapp blue ticks, reassuring that what you needed to convey has been received but it highlights the focus of the connected audience to the very fact that you exist in their dynamic list of contacts. From the moment of truth, you grow conscious of the way you are dressed to the manner the others on the same boat deal with the waves. Even though you are amazed at how you survive the storm, they look forward to your strategies while you struggle to keep your sails up.

First Day! First Show!

Amidst the hustle bustle of the restless souls, how it all starts with an anxious morning followed by hours of documentation to certify you really do belong to that place and before you become comfortable with how fortunate you were to land at your destination, the flight of expectations is ready for take off. Seat belts fastened by your institute, you make your way to the land of skyscrapers, trying to mirror their actions in the very glass the firm's infrastructure is made of. Emoticons happen to be your best friend even when it comes to the social media platforms that they helped you configure while you were rendered clueless about the purpose of your existence in the firm.

Then there are those moments where it all dawns upon you that you chose to be there and for your own good. With them yearning for fresher perspectives, the experienced and resourceful beings are quick to take your hand, twirl you around and make you comfortable with each leap of faith. They choose to burst that bubble that kept you caged in your skeptical sphere. Experienced or not, who asks for something when they have everything? Well, they did.

"I'll be there for you..." did not just happen on screen with F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

If you have a question, the song plays on; in case you are confused, the tune gets clearer and the amplification goes higher as you shout out to discuss ideas of any sort or size. The dice is finally in your favour when you are a bunch of half a dozen on the raft down the waterfall. The risks are high but the ropes are tough and the freefall makes you fall in love with yourself and life. First days to offices are scary even if you had taken several measures by approaching a thousand referrals or visited the firm to get a glimpse of what life is going to be like. EOD, multiple smiles exchanged across the hallway and multiple contacts shared to reach out to whenever and wherever in need seals the deal and restores your faith in the corporate affairs.

When they said it is "You to the power of IBM", they meant it and I am fortunate to experience it.

Amazing. Just amazing how easy you make it to write any form of writing so flawlessly. All the best for rest of your internship!
