The bridging visa, valid for 60 days, offers a seamless transition for expatriates, eliminating the need for them to exit Indonesia during the renewal process. However, it’s crucial to note that the transitional residence permit will expire if the individual departs the country.

Application Process and Guidelines

To acquire the bridging visa, foreigners must apply within Indonesia, as mandated by the immigration authorities. Individuals must apply for this visa and settle the necessary fees at least three days before their prior residence permit expires. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in complications during the renewal process.

Furthermore, individuals who obtain the bridging visa after the expiration of their previous residence permit are not subject to overstay penalties.
