Indonesia National Electricity Conference / Expo

Pleased to be invited as a speaker for this event. I will be speaking on "Applying Digital Technology in Power Systems" representing the Global Smart Grid Federation in my capacity as its "Ambassador". Other round tables/meeting have been scheduled after the conference as well.

Applying digital technology in power systems has seen varying successes globally (particularly from a regulatory perspective). In my global travels in the last 5 years, I have had the opportunity to partake in many post-facto corrective solutions.

Power systems is a very unforgiving area where mistakes are not very easy to correct. One needs to plan everything carefully based on a roadmap. The usual snags occur in telecom bandwidth, applying an IT project-like approach, lack of understanding of fundamental power systems itself, and non-utilization of data from such digital initiatives.

Glad to see that the Global Smart Grid Federation, is now extending its capacity and activities to help its members with such shared experiences/technical expertise.
