We are proud to host the first?Indo-Nordic seminar?together with?Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce?and?Swedish Indian Business Council?in Sweden. We are also excited to have along with us companies from Finland and Iceland.?
The five Nordic countries: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland – cooperate with one another to improve and coordinate matters of business and energy policy. Business is central to the promise of a better world, envisioned by the 2030 goals. Responsible companies can provide the creativity and the bold leadership we need to help to solve the world’s most pressing challenges, while at the same time embracing new business opportunities.
DMI believes in working with businesses in the Nordic region to find new ways to tackle the challenges of SDG implementation and empower the Nordic region to do what it does best: engage in meaningful collaboration. Therefore we are excited about the first Indo-Nordic Cooperation. Take a look at the speakers line up.?
The Indo-Nordic Cooperation session focuses on Clean Energy and Renewables. The aim is to foster collaboration between India and the Nordic countries in the field of clean energy, sustainability, and renewable technologies. This session within the summit will focus on two key aspects: cities and the unique offerings of individual Nordic countries towards the Indian market. The session will provide a platform for knowledge sharing, idea exchange, and identifying potential areas of cooperation.
The objectives are to explore opportunities and challenges for clean energy and renewables collaboration between cities in India and the Nordic region. In addition, highlighting the distinctive strengths and expertise of individual Nordic countries in the clean energy and renewables sector, and their relevance to the Indian market, is important.

Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the second India-Nordic summit in Denmark in 2021 that primarily focused on post-pandemic economic recovery, climate change, renewable energy and the evolving global security scenario. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the 2nd India-Nordic Summit along with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen of Denmark, Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir of Iceland, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St?re of Norway, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson of Sweden and Prime Minister Sanna Marin of Finland.
The Summit provided an opportunity to review the progress of the India-Nordic relations since the 1st India-Nordic Summit, which was held in 2018 in Stockholm. Discussions were held on multilateral cooperation in post-pandemic economic recovery, climate change, sustainable development, innovation, digitalization, and green and clean growth. Discussions were also held on cooperation in maritime sector with a focus on sustainable ocean management. Prime Minister invited Nordic companies for investing in the Blue Economy sector, especially in India’s Sagarmala project. The Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce is a comitted non-profit organization with a clear mission. We have enjoyed the close collaboration with Director Mads Schlosser the past months.
Swedish India Business Council
It would not be possible to put together this Indo-Nordic session without Swedish Business Council and Indian Danish Chamber of commerce. The Sweden-India Business Council (SIBC) is the first choice network for growing business between Sweden and India. Established in May 2003, SIBC grows rapidly every year adding small, medium and large companies as members. SIBC arranges focused meetings, roundtables and more with high value in terms of knowledge and time. We have had the plaesure of working closely with Arati Davis. She is COO and head of the Sweden India Transport Innovation and Safety Platform.
Prime Minister of India visited Sweden on 16-17 April 2018. This was Prime Minister’s first visit to Sweden as well as a visit to Sweden by Indian Prime Minister after three decades. Prime Minister Modi had an audience with His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf. Prime Minister’s discussions with PM Lofven focused on strengthening bilateral ties with special emphasis on building closer economic relations as well as important global and regional issues.?
We will also have with us companies from Finland and Iceland! See you in Delhi on September 14th and 15th!
Attracting and retaining Indian Talent
Our upcoming seminar is full!
?
Almost 2,000 Indians received work permits in Norway in 2019. It is a big job for Norway to adapt to the working life of the future, and we need the best people. In that case, international experience and competence outside national borders is essential. Without diversity, the pace of innovation is poor. Already within the next year, India will have more inhabitants than China. India has a young population, and half of Indians are under 25 years of age. The overall story for India’s economy is a massively growing workforce. Is Norway equipped to attract them and preserve Indian talent?
Join us for a breakfast seminar on August 29th at 08.30 to discuss the current status on talent attraction and the future of innovation in Norway.?
We have with us:
