How to stop worrying and start living
1.Leadership usually gravitates to the man who stands up and says what he thinks. Public speaking is priceless training. It is first learned to develop self-confidence and solve problems to stand up on their feet to be able to say a few words at a business meeting without fainting from fright. The salesman wanted to be able to call on a tough customer without having to walk around the block three times to get up the courage. They wanted to develop poise and self-confidence. They wanted to get ahead in business. They wanted to have more money for their families. You got your voice and you have a living.
2. Now, you need to win friends and influence people. When you are selling something you check your figures. 70%-80% of your sales are closed at the first interview, 40%-50% of your sales are closed at the second interview & only 7%-10% of your sales are done on those 3rd, 4th, 5th & several interviews follow-up calls which cause depression. You will notice 1/4th of your business day you spend on those calls which are responsible for only 7%-10% of your sales. What is the answer? The answer was obvious, immediately cut-off all the follow-ups beyond 2nd follow-ups and spent the rest of the time developing new prospects. The results will be unbelievable. By this method, In a very short time, people have become Top sellers in the nation at Sales based jobs. Last I checked Stéphane Bancel was a Sales director before becoming C.E.O of Moderna, which is a triumph for a startup after they were approved for Covid-19 vaccine. His 9% stock in Moderna is worth over 1 billion dollars. How did they do it? i) What is the problem? ii)What is the cause of the problem? iii)What are all possible solutions? iv) What solution do you suggest?
3. Basic techniques in analyzing worries. Rule 1. Get the Facts. Remember Dean Hawks of Columbia suggests that Half the worry in the world is caused by people trying to make decisions before they have sufficient knowledge on which to base the decision. Rule 2. After carefully weighing all the facts, carefully make the decision. Rule 3. Once a decision is carefully reached, ACT gets busy carrying out the decision and dismiss all anxiety about the outcome. Rule 4. When you or any of your associates are tempted to worry about a problem, write down an answer to the following questions. A) What is the problem B) What is the cause of the problem C) What are all possible solutions D) What is the best solution.
4. How to break the worry habit before it breaks you? How to crowd worry out of your mind?
When tragedy strikes our home, we think we couldn’t endure that loss, your child died but when you are blessed with another child and that too died. Now you couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, couldn't rest or relax, your nerves are utterly shaken, and your confidence is gone. At last, you went to the Doctor, one recommended sleeping pills, and another recommended a Trip. You tried both but neither remedy helped. You feel your body is trapped and jaws are gripped tighter and tighter. The tension of grief if you have been paralyzed by sorrow, you know what he meant. Now you have a son left who gave you a solution to the problem. He asked you daddy will you build a boat for me you refused politely. But he is persistent and that day it took you 3 hours to make a boat. That day you realized those were the first time you had mental relaxation in the first six months. So if you are busy doing something it requires planning and thinking. In this case, building the boat knocked the worry out of the ring. So then you resolved to KEEP BUSY. The next day you went around the house and made a list of things that needed to be done. Repaired, bought, or sold off.. Astonishingly in around 1-2 years, you will finish most of the checklist. Indulge yourself in stimulating activities be it joining classes or performing a hobby, joining the red cross and collecting blood, go teach somewhere or perform a social service, basically doing something that apart from your work, you will have no time for worry. No time for worry, That is what Winston Churchill said when he was asked, He was working 18 hours a day at the height of the war. “Do you worry about the situation in the war?” I am very busy and I have no time to worry. How was this possible? How did they do it? It is because of the most fundamental law ever revealed by psychology. That it is utterly impossible for any human mind no matter how brilliant to think of more than one thing at any given time. You don't quite believe it. Very well then let's try an experiment, suppose you lean back right now close your eyes and try at the same instance to think of the statue of liberty and what you have planned to do tomorrow morning. Go ahead try it. You found out didn't you that focus on either in turns but never on both simultaneously. Well, the same thing is true in the field of emotions.
