Individuals and interactions over processes and tools!

Last week I had the luck to attend 2 days course around Scrum Master and I passed my first certification on Agile, the Certified Scrum Master - yeah!

The course was great and it was lead by the great Karim Harbott!

I’ve really enjoyed it, it was an overview of scrum principles, the 3-3-5 model (3 roles, 5 events, and 3 artifacts) and more details about the scrum master role. What I've enjoyed most were the activities created to learn scrum by doing it and the interactions with other attendees from several industries and backgrounds.

What has really impressed me was when Florian asked to think about a successful project and write down the key factors that have brought to success. When finished, he asked us to add these characteristics close to one of the categories in the wall, and the photos below were the result, impressive!

?Individuals and interactions was the category with the most success factors, this activity just as an empirical confirmation that the agile manifesto is so true!

From the Agile Manifesto - https://agilemanifesto.org/

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  • Working software over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.
