Indigenous Electric Vehicle: Value Chain
Since Independence, Indian society and business community has gone through with tremendous amount of Innovations, creativity to Inventions. Launch of Electric vehicles in late 90's brought a thrilling revolution in Indian Society. No one had even thought that the EV will change the lifestyle of countrymen in such a way that it became the part of livelihood.
This revolution helped India to open ample business opportunities for automobile companies within the country and across the globe. Sighting the development and growth of the EVs in India, the Government of India launched the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 and it was launched in 2013. The main aims to achieve national fuel security by promoting hybrid and electric vehicles in the country. To fast track this development, the government also launched the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles scheme under NEMMP 2020.
Well, Government Policies are a source of providing platform for new business and launch of new schemes, however, the practical usage of Electric mobility carries forward the technological revolution from Urban to Rural. We should not forget that "No Innovations Comes without the challenges" and hence EVs are also not an exception.

"No Electricity No Charging". The major challenge in India the availability of constant electricity to maintain the fast charging concept successful. Some of the possible solutions is of-course is the fast Charging and the algorithm on which the charger should show the impact.
Revolutionary Lithium Ion Batteries
Most of of the EVs function on lithium ion batteries which are costly as it has to be imported. Experts explain that about 80 % of the core components including the battery and the battery management system in an EV are imported by domestic players. In the long run, India may have a solution to the problem. Today, the whole world is making use of these batteries for launch vehicles as well as for satellites. However, if Government of Indian creates a policies to import the the raw materials for developing Lithium Ion batteries, then it will ease out most of the issues. Once the batteries are made locally it will further reduce the price of these vehicles. Charging stations are also being planned and set up across the country.
