India's first sci-fi, political, monumental EPIC

As I was having lunch, I came across a news item, about the latest scifi movie.

It took me down a train of thought as to how did Sci-fi genre, become so big?

A quick wiki search, revealed, Sci-fi movies have been around for over 120 years.

What's so different about the Sci-fi genre, that Hollywood and general public seem to go ga-ga over it?

Then it made me wonder, what are some of the good sci-fi movies, from India? Krish!, that's the first one that came to mind and I am sure there are more!

But ....

Aren't there sci-fi stories in Indian history, mythology or folklore ?

Stories with such grandeur both in writing and in the setting?

The Kurukshetra war from the Mahabaratha, was one of the most scientifically advanced war ever fought on this planet.

There's research happening in India, attempting to reverse engineer the sacred texts, the lost wisdom in energy harnessing, which seem to have been the way of life in ancient India, and at least in Mahabaratha. All the Astras are what we so called modern folks, call WMDs are weapons of mass destructions.

Now, if ancient India, was so advanced, where did all this wisdom around energy harnessing go? Are the secret groups/cults still possessing that knowledge?

Is science progressing at the rate of disclosure of wisdom, from this secret group.

Exciting thought right?

On the flip side, this could very well have been a great movie script, written by an expert screenwriter.

Now, #WHATIF Mahabaratha, was a sci-fi movie from Ancient India?

Exhilarating thought !
