India's Biggest Competition for Bio-Entrepreneurs, NBEC2024 is here!

The National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC), a flagship event of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), is India’s largest and most prestigious national competition for bio entrepreneurs.?Over the years, NBEC has attracted, identified and nurtured deep science-driven business ideas that address India’s most pressing societal challenges in new, innovative, and commercially viable ways.

Now in its 7th edition, #NBEC2024 is open till April 30th, 2024 for student teams, researchers, innovators, aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups, small or medium biotech companies or anyone with a bright idea in any discipline of the life sciences. Apply here

Launched in 2017, till date, NBEC has brought to the forefront 87 promising young entrepreneurs as winners who have grabbed the attention of investors, were featured in national and global media, and went on to win many other accolades.

Glimpses from the past NBEC editions

NBEC has garnered the support of over 30 industry partners, with a substantial amount of ?16.1 Crore allocated as prize money and investment opportunities in edition six alone. The total amount of cash prizes and investment opportunities crossing a mindboggling ?37.8 Cr.

With approximately 15,000 applications received from 35 States & UTs in the past six editions, NBEC has established itself not only as India’s biggest innovation showcase but also as a unique platform that has broken the oft-mentioned issue of metro-based innovation silos in India’s biotech landscape and unlocked the potential of science-led entrepreneurship among Tier II, Tier III cities.

Highlights of NBEC 2024

Prize: NBEC 2024 has in store ?15 Crore in cash prizes and investment opportunities for winners, making it one of the biggest and most high-stakes platforms, in India’s bio startup domain. Winning student teams will receive prize money of up to ?10 lakhs.

  • 2 Parallel tracks, one for startups, individuals and entrepreneurs in India and an exclusive one for aspiring student teams.
  • Winners will get access to mentorship by key industry leaders. ?

Shortlisted finalists in both startup and student tracks will participate in a specially designed Entrepreneurship Development Boot Camp to understand the tricks of the trade such as how to raise funding for your startup, what to say & what not to say while pitching business ideas to VCs and more!
