India's AI: A Lost Game, or Just Warming Up?
I have been doing courses and attending seminars on AI usage. I think that a big transformation can happen. I have led some AI initiatives as well, on about 31 use cases, and have established it as a process with a 36% cost reduction from the actual cost. But our AI game is slow, people are skeptical. ??
?Let's talk about the elephant in the room, shall we??AI. It's the buzzword of the decade, and for good reason. Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing industries at a breakneck pace (and it's happening), and the global race to develop the most?powerful, innovative AI solutions is well underway. A?2023?IBM poll found that 40% of enterprise-scale enterprises are considering implementing AI, and 42% have already integrated AI into their operations. Furthermore, 42% of firms plan to include generative AI in their workflows, compared to 38% of organizations already doing so.
India, the land of ingenious "jugaad" and a booming tech sector, should be a natural contender in this race. But here's the thing – we seem stuck in second gear while the US and China are already nearing the finish line. Frustrating, right?
It was only recently that I read a tweet from an ex-Google employee,?Gaurav Aggarwal, that read, "After about seven months since leaving Google to start an AI research company in India, I have to, unfortunately, cut short my adventure due to various reasons." Several others feel like Aggarwal.
Now, I'm not one for pessimism. India has a?massive?talent pool, and the potential for AI development is undeniable. But?there are roadblocks slowing?us down. We're facing a data?desert– the fuel for the AI engine is scarce. Funding for research feels sluggish, and let's not forget the talent gap. We have brilliant minds, but many lack the specialized training needed to truly push the boundaries of AI.

Our IT giants need a wake-up call, too. And I am serious...All you hear in their newsletter or communication is AI but nothing serious, they just want to scream at the top of their voices that they are pioneering AI.
