The Indians who will create India@100

15th August 2022 was a milestone in India's history - we completed 75 years of our independence and as we celebrated this everyone was also envisioning the India of 2047 when India would celebrate 100 years of its independence.

Several eminent Indians shared their visions, dreams, aspirations and hopes for India@100 but my mind went to who will building the India we want to see in 2047. It will most definitely not be our generation or the generations prior to ours. It will be the youth who are building their knowledge and capacities every single day in the various educational institutions of our country. I took out a pen and paper and calculated to find that more than 1 Billion children will enter and exit our schools between now and 2047.

We have to empower them with the right knowledge, priorities, skills, values and attitude so that they can create an India which will be "Saare Jahan Se Achcha"

As we approach the "Teachers Day" celebrated on the 5th of September every year. I once again reflected on the magnanimity of the task that lies ahead for the teachers of our country. Teachers who we have grown to love and respect with every single day that we have worked with them at Million Sparks Foundation, Teachers who have worked tirelessly through the extremely tough last two years keeping their children connected to learning and are now working with all their hearts to bridge any gaps in learning that might have gotten created in this time.

At Million Sparks Foundation we have been fortunate to get in touch with 650,000 teachers and contribute to their knowledge and are now recommitting ourselves to continue to contribute to their great mission of building the India of our dreams that would make the most meaningful contribution to the world.
