Indiana's Leadership in the Fight Against Global Hunger and Malnutrition
On Thursday, September 7, the Eleanor Crook Foundation (ECF) was honored to partner with 美国普渡大学 ’s Center for Global Food Security and Indiana Congressman Jim Baird to co-host a roundtable on “Indiana's Leadership in the Fight Against Global Hunger and Malnutrition.”
The roundtable brought together esteemed leaders from Indiana agribusiness, farmers, NGOs, current and former national policymakers, as well as?experts from a cross-section of disciplines at Purdue. Lesly Weber McNitt , ECF’s Senior Director for U.S. Advocacy and Communications, moderated the discussion. The participants engaged in a spirited dialogue about Indiana’s legacy advancing global food and nutrition security, and how we can combine forces to advance 21st century leadership on this issue.
In the spirit of ECF’s mission to scale high-impact solutions, the roundtable discussion was solutions-focused. The event focused on food security and malnutrition through the lens of 4 key themes:
The group also reflected on the history of U.S. leadership on agricultural research and international food assistance in the context of the upcoming Farm Bill.?
