INDIAN WOMEN BIKERS WHO ARE SMASHING STEREOTYPES

Dr Neharika Yadav

A dentist by profession, Dr Neharika Yadav developed a passion for bikes and decided to pursue it. Balancing both, Neharika soon became a known name in the biking world and even bagged the title of 'India’s Fastest Lady Super Biker'. A track racer, Neharika is often seen riding the Ducati Panigale 899 and participating in motorcycle races.

?Roshni Misbah

Popularly known as the 'hijabi biker', Roshni Misbah is a well-known name in the biking world and developed a passion for the sport at an early age. Brought up in a conservative family, Roshni broke the barriers and decided to go beyond the usual. As per reports, Roshini stunned many when she rode her first bike a 'Bajaj Avenger Cruiser 220' to her college. Her passion for biking continued and she has currently ridden over 100 motorcycles and owns a store of superbikes.

?Aishwarya Pissay

An Indian circuit and off-road motorcycle racer, Aishwarya Pissay's interest in biking developed at a young age and at 21, she made her debut at the TVS One-Make Race championship for women. Over the years, Aishwarya has continued to prove that women can be bikers too. Bagging several awards for her performance, Aishwarya became the first-ever Indian motorsports athlete to win a world title in 2019.

?Esha Gupta

While the concept of "following one's passion" is often encouraged, not many have the ability to pursue something as abstract as biking. However, Esha Gupta decided to let go of these thoughts and follow her passion for biking expeditions. She quit her job at an MNC and began going on bike trips. In 2014, she covered 7,000 km on her bike in 40 days cruising through Mumbai–Delhi–Kolkata–Chennai Golden Quadrilateral. Over the years, Esha has ventured solo on several of these rides and even encouraged women to ride without fear.

?Roshni Sharma

Roshni Sharma gained fame when she decided to ride solo from Kanyakumari to Kashmir at the age of 26 covering 11 states, difficult terrains and tough mountain ranges. With her journey, Roshni has continued to prove that women can achieve anything if they set their minds to it. As per reports, Roshni developed a love for bikes at an early age. However, she did not like the idea of riding through the usual travel and instead wanted to explore places during her long bike rides.

?Dr Sarika Mehta

The founder of 'Biking Queen', Dr Sarika Mehta was born in a conservative family in Surat that did not value educating women. However, her parents supported her and defied family norms to educate their daughters. Understanding the importance of freedom, Dr Sarika Mehta continued to study and completed her PhD in Behavioral Science. As per reports, Sarika steered into the world of biking after a male friend's remark on women riding bikes. From then on, with the help of her husband, she learned to bike and soon began changing the way people looked at women bikers. In 2015, she started the women's biking club in Surat called the 'Biking Queens'.

?Urvashi Patole

As per reports, Urvashi Patole started riding a bike at the age of 14 and has continued to follow her passion for the sport. She is also the co-founder of the all-women motorcycling group 'Bikerani, which was started in 2011 with 11 members and now is known worldwide with over 2000 members.
