Indian Mutual Fund Industry Crosses 14.74 Crore Total Folio Count
In May 2023, the Indian mutual fund industry witnessed a 0.7% monthly growth and an 11% yearly growth in MF folios, bringing the total folio count to 14.74 crores.
Open-ended schemes under the debt category, specifically Ultra Short Duration Fund and Medium to Long Duration Fund, saw an increase in folio count compared to the previous month's decline.
Most open-ended equity schemes showed growth, with only a slight decline of 0.16%, 0.73%, and 0.14% in Large Cap Fund, Focused Fund, and Sectoral/Thematic Funds, respectively.
Index funds had the highest folio count growth (5.83%), followed by Small Cap Fund (4.11%) and Multi Asset Allocation Fund (3.13%). On the other hand, Credit Risk Funds (-1.16%), Arbitrage Fund (-0.97%), and Banking and PSU Fund (-0.82%) experienced a decline in folio count.
The top five categories in terms of composition remained unaltered.
