Indian Mango 2018 - Latest
Currently the Alphonso Mango crop is in the early harvest stage and deliveries to Godowns contain approx 20-30% immature fruit. This will have an impact on colour and acidity if not removed as they pass across the inspection tables
Processors are suggesting a further week before much of the fruit will be at the correct maturity for harvesting and delivery to site.
Initial prices are thought to be around IR25 per kilo which is more or less in line with 2017 crop levels. Once the harvesting speeds up, this price is expect to rise a little. 2017 season average price was approx IR26.5
As more information becomes available this will be updated
Totapuri is expected to be around IR10-11 as per 2017 crop but there is still the threat that the damage to table fruit crops such as Langra variety will impact on volume of fruit available for processing
Another 3-4 weeks and the situation will be much clearer
