Nitin Gadkari says India won’t increase tax on diesel engines, spirit is to shift towards green fuels

Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday, September 14, asserted that the Union government is not looking to increase tax on diesel vehicles but that the spirit is to encourage the use of green fuels.

"I'm not against diesel or diesel cars. I'm not advocating for a tax increase on diesel vehicles. But we should move towards green fuels. The vision and mission for industry should be to move towards biofuels," Gadkari told CNBC-TV18 in an exclusive interaction.

Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Friday, September 15. The sudden change of weather brought down the temperature in the national capital. Waterlogging was witnessed in several parts of Delhi following heavy rainfall.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall in Delhi over the next five days. The weather department predicted "generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/ thundershowers with gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph)" on Friday.

40 online gaming companies likely to receive notices for GST evasion: Govt officials

About 40 online gaming companies are likely to soon receive show-cause notices from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) authorities for alleged tax evasion after the Supreme Court stayed a Karnataka High Court judgment, quashing a GST notice?against Gameskraft Technology Private Limited (GTPL) for alleged tax evasion to the tune of Rs 21,000 crore, two senior government officials said.

The Supreme Court (SC) stay came on September 6. The Karnataka High Court (HC) had issued the judgment in May 2023.

Will you become environment minister of India... its enough of roads now... lets build environment.. by reserving new forest area protecting bio diversity...pl for gods sake Looking at current climetic conditions like flash floods/heat waves /drought .. minister like Nitèn gadkari can only protect Mother nature by effective implementation of environment policies..
