India hopes to become a major global supplier of semiconductors by Upcoming year : Davos 2023 !

According to Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday, India has launched an ambitious plan to become a major supplier for the world and has invested $10 billion of its own money because it sees a significant opportunity in the global semiconductor industry.

The Minister stated that there is a sizable market for semiconductors and India has enormous potential in terms of infrastructure, talent pool, and technology at a panel on "Learning from semiconductor supply shocks" at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2023.

Further he said Indian University produces a large number of talent and is also helping a lot as we have tied up. The Indian Government itself is putting in $10 billion and it has chalked out a long haul programme. He replied on the government's own plan.

He added further, We see enormous potential for India to emerge as a major global supplier of semiconductors, particularly for the most recent demands, such as those for electric vehicles and all cutting-edge technology. The demand will be enormous, in our opinion.

In 2021, the Indian Semiconductor Market will be worth US$ 21.75 billion. During the forecast period, the Indian Semiconductor Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 27.2%.
