India and Germany are exploring investment opportunities in the MSME sector

Secretary of the Department for the Advancement of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Anurag Jain, who is part of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his tour of Germany, met Markus Gerger, President of BVMW (German Association of Small and Medium Enterprises) on Tuesday to discuss investment opportunities between the two countries.

Jain and George discussed cooperation in the MSME sector between India and Germany with a particular focus on the areas of food processing, textiles, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, technology, hydrogen, green energy, sustainability, and digitalization. Jain also chaired the German Small and Medium Enterprises Roundtable in Berlin.

Earlier this week, Modi and German Chancellor Olaf Schulz signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) to establish an agreement to acquire direct encrypted communication between the Foreign Ministry (MEA) and the German Foreign Ministry. Eight other agreements were also signed on Monday to promote green energy, economic partnership, and mobility.
