Index Team Retreat 2022
Everyone is a leader, and everyone is a follower.
Last week the entire Index team gathered in Turkey for our Annual Team Retreat.
As most of our team works remotely, we had the time to reconnect in person, work together for 4 days, have fun, share learnings, and see the company's culture come to life. ???
The name of the retreat was the "Vision of 1000 devs - i1000". During this time, we were able to strengthen our values and shape our strategy for 2025. The retreat brought us together around some squad-gluing and strategy-defining activities. We planned the way to the future of work through intense workshops, as well as explored a team-building safari with jeeps, spent time by the sea, and reconnected with our colleagues.

Each of us has the power to contribute and shape the future of Index. It all starts with “I”.
Something that I learned early in my founding career is that culture is the offspring of the actions and behaviors of the leadership team. This means that it all starts with “I” - the founder, CEO, VP, and employee.

Values are not just culture to us.
The second thing I have learned is that culture isn’t static and is constantly evolving as more people join the team and bring their own views and values.?
Values help us hire the best people, take risks, learn from mistakes and reach beyond boundaries. They are what differentiates us from others and help us create a high-performance working environment where people feel proud to work.?

Our culture consists of the 3P model. We call it the Play, Purpose, Potential mindset to all our employees, as a way to promote learning, improve leadership traits of new and existing team members, and maintain a fast-growing work environment. The biggest shift I’ve seen since implementing this mindset was a change for the better in our culture, values, and vision.?

Everyone had the opportunity to speak their minds and provide honest feedback on what can we improve for our clients and developers and how we should work together as a team.?
