INDEPENDENCE IS A VERB

History books might tell us that INDEPENDENCE was fought for and won to give birth to this country but that was only the beginning

It has to continue inside all of us at all times for it to be real

It's a living thing, there aren't phases of it

The opposite is to be dependent

Sure we are born dependent but if we have good parents they structure our upbringing to ween us off their grocery bill sooner than later

I know this sounds like a lecture and that's not the intention, but regardless of how it lands on you this is what I have to say

FIGHT FOR YOUR OWN WAY??

No one cares more about you than you, even those who are there in hard times

They care but it only goes as far as you are willing to carry what they gave you

Look at where we are as a country and point to one single person in so-called LEADERSHIP that truly has your interests in mind

Hit me up when you come up with one

I would propose this is nothing new, it's just that it's our time to see shine the light on the darkness

How we RESPOND to what is thrown our way is where our true INDEPENDENCE is found

Water will eventually erode the wall, and we are all here but a short while

So how we live defines our level of freedom

Quit waiting for someone else to light the torch??

The old stories of greatness and heroes may be true but that was yesterday
