Incredibly powerful reaction to presentation in article below

Today on 24th March 2017 we held a safety focus session on a Civil construction project.

The project had been experiencing a build-up of safety events with minor incidents cropping up regularly that had an insignificant actual outcome such as a minor paint chip from heavy plant reversing into each other but with an underlying potential for a significant injury or fatality.

 Perth based public speaker Theo Venter was engaged by the project to re-focus everyone's attention on what is really important.

 Theo's message that a split second decision to take a minor shortcut can have far reaching consequences really hit home with approximately 180 men and 20 women from heavy civil construction backgrounds sat in silence, mesmerised by his story and his message. Many of these strong construction workers had to brush dust out of their eyes as Theo spoke.

 In 2006 Theo was working on a 22 000V power transmission line. He is the only known survivor of a 22 000V arc passing through a human body.

 As Theo spoke of the battle with his injuries, his battle with inner demons and the associated fallout from the event that affected his family, friends and workmates the room was silent.

 I can thoroughly recommend Theo and his presentation. There are no assumptions made, no judgements passed and no presumption of being anything other than a man.

 It is one man telling his story in the hope that one person may take something from it. Theo has earned the respect of many men and women today.
