Incredible progress has been made in transforming local parks into vibrant, inclusive spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Here are some of the key highlights from 2024:

• Solo Gibbs Park: Major plans are underway to transform this park! The recently demolished Sharp-Leadenhall Elementary School has cleared the way for new greenspaces. Construction of a splash pad, playground, pavilion, and more will begin in Fall 2025.
• Florence Cummins Park: Thanks to the vision from the 2020 Community Master Plan, strides are happening with new playgrounds, sports facilities, and pavilions. Groundbreaking is set for late 2025!
• Carroll Park Recreation Center: We celebrated the ribbon-cutting of this modern recreation space in Pigtown. From classrooms to basketball hoops, this center brings new life to the community!
• Conway Street Park: With design and construction plans completed, we’re gearing up to start construction in early 2025.
