Increasing Productivity

Perfection is the biggest enemy of productivity. Here is how I pretend to have increased my productivity four times.

According to the Pareto principle, 80% of the result comes from 20% of the effort.?

So, I start with the first task and stop after spending 20% of my effort, i.e., when it is 80% complete.

At this point, I move on to the next task. I spend another 20% effort on it until it is 80% complete.

This way, by the end of the day, I have spent 20% effort on all my tasks. And all are at 80% completion.

Wow nice technique I was not know about such thing. Will give a try. But don't we need to give our 100% to achieve perfection. I think in trying to do so we explore new thing. Please correct me if it's wrong bcoz I do most of thing to make it perfect!

As long as 80% makes the work effective in the chain with barely anything to lose, I do not see a need to complete 100%. However if there are tasks especially in critical or emergency services where the last mile, that 20% is the divide between achieving and not achieving. I think they are the cases where perfectionism is a must. Even if we can manage with less perfect, strive for perfection should not be misclassified. The strife is always required and should be appreciated.

As a “recovering perfectionist,” I appreciate occasional reminders to not let perfectionism misuse our time Abhimanyu Gupta. I also liked the application of the Pareto Principle!
