Increasing probability of Tropical Cyclone development

There is a large zone of disturbed weather in the western Caribbean associated with a low pressure area near the eastern border of Honduras and Nicaragua. Right now upper-level winds are not very favorable for development. But that could change over the weekend and early next week. Conditions will become less hostile to development, and a tropical depression could form over the Bay of Campeche or southern Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center has raised the probability of this happening to 50%. Assuming formation occurs, it is too early to say how the storm will track, though there is certainly a chance it could enhance rain chances along parts of the Gulf coast next week.
